Don't go through new reg. Buy your personal plate from the DVLA as all plates have to come from there anyway and they charge £250 including everything.

Most of the time the plates that the other sites advertised aren't even owned by them. When you order them they go and purchase the plate from the DVLA themselves and sell it on.

Agree with Minxy and John mate my reg plate H18OAB is for sale on www.newreg.com valued at £1100 but the dvla would only give me £400 when i asked Newreg.com why that was it was because they take a percentage of the sale and so on and i was gonna walk away with £450 so i just sold the plate on the car but made sure the new owner is paying an extra £450 for the plate (as thats what drew his attention to the car)

Newreg.com are rip off merchants mate stick with the DVLA

I would agree. Buying your plate off dvla is straight forward and easy.

I don't like any of those combinations either.

What about having DAV rather than your initials? There are a few of them on dvla like this but your Astra needs to be an 02 plate or newer.

Mand you cannot Put a newer plate on an older car it's illegal,

And he can have anything on it as long as it's the same or older than the year of first registration so he could have DAV 111A if he wanted! the new format does not stop you from putting the older style plates on the car!

when buying the plate from new reg do you not still have to pay the £80 DVLA fee on top of that? when you buy from the DVLA thats included.

you should really change your username now then Mr Skippy
