    Astra mk4 total closure

    Hey all,

    Seen this device on ebay.

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...86918&rd=1

Does anyone know much about it? I was thinking it's probably a bit much up at £35, bearing in mind, I imagine it would be acheivable with probably not much more than a relay?

Has anyone done this mod by hand themself? Bearing in mind that turning the key activates the total closure function, surely that wiring the remote/central locking circuit with a relay to the door key circuit it would be a doddle?

    Or am I missing something?

Yes that is slightly over priced for what it is but you do need more than just a relay

I'm still waiting back from someone who is looking into supplying units like this to me for half the price

Astra G, Vectra, Corsa........ All work the same way for total closure and most have the same colour wires

I used to make those modules using electronic components and a bit of time to work out how to make them

Dead easy mod to do, 4 wires to hook into on the car and you're away. £35 is not a bad price for an easy fit module, I've seen others selling for £45 with fitting instructions

Thanks all for the replies. I emailed that guy in the above link and he is selling the relays for £10 then I can do the wiring myself. He only has a couple left but darn good price to me!

This sounds like another good mod to have on the car.

    Here's a thought...

Having full closure when you activate the deadlocks, well what about full opening when you unlock the car and then press unlock again?

I'm thinking for those hot summer days when those of us without air-con swealter! I don't know how the circuit works for these as I haven't looked yet but with some sort of timer/counter style circuit you could just reverse the closure circuit.

I maybe over-simplifying a complicated system though. Need to look when I wire up the closure...
