Vauxhall register a lot of cars themselves. Your car has either been a Vauxhall Motors Demonostrator(a dealer can pay for a specific car to be sent up for a week long demo, as well as Vauxhall giving out cars on long term (i.e. 6-months ata time), to companies that they have deals with), or it could have been a Vauxhall management car, basically if you work for Vauxhall they have a company car scheme where by you get a company car (this is either provided by Vauxhall or you can pay them £X amount a month for it, they are ran again for 6 months before being de-fleeted and sold on). There are also lower mileage i,e, 100 miles etc. cars that Vauxhall sell-off which are registered purely for registration purposes (you'll all have seen it in the paper best March ever so many thousand cars registered, you wouldnt beleive how many of these are actually cars manufacturers register themselves. If you phone Vauxhalls customer service line, they maybe able to contact Vauxhall Fleet and find out what the car was used for.

Vauxhall could have sold some ex fleet by auction to get rid of them.
