To anyone with a Steinmetz grille....

.... can you measure one of the squares and provide me with dimensions in mms or cms.

Particularly anal I know but I'm thinking of getting the lower grille for my Coupe and want to know if the Irmscher bonnet grille I currently have will need swapping out or if the grid sizes are close enough that it won't be noticeable or necessary

    Yes they do.

Andy AFAIK the Steinmetz 'slats' are wider than the Irmscher ones. The Irmscher ones are more squareish. I should imagine if you want a complete match you will need a Steinmetz grill to go with the lower grill bits.

That's what I was afraid of. I knew there was a difference in grid size between the two brands but wasn't sure which was the larger of the two. Looks like I'll be more out of pocket that I was hoping but it changes the bumper enough to make it worthwhile

It may look good if the lower grids are larger than the top ones. Especially if you remove the Irmscher logo from the grill and any logos from the lower Steinmetz?? Ask somebody to do a photoshop if you have two decent pictures of each grill??

    Keif - superb, many thanks

Richie - I was thinking the same thing, it may look ok if the bottom gids are larger than the top ones so I think I'll try that before I look seriously at whether I need the Steinmetz bonnet grille.

Rich - Steinmetzdirect.co.uk - in stock, 147 plus postage (but I've only ever seen them for the Coupe/Cabrio bumper, not any of the other Astra G's so you may need to check)

And finally, to all, you need to cut the slats out of the existing bumper to fit so this isn't a mod that you can strip out and get some money back on if you decide to change cars in the future.

Many thanks for all your help and advice - much appreciated

re: To anyone with a Steinmetz grille....

    Dammit,

it's actually the other way around, the Irmscher grids are bigger (70mm x 25) making them noticeably more rectangular than the Steinmetz.

Looks like I will need the bonnet grille as well because being a fussy git, I just know I couldn't live with the difference .

Oh well, looks like an Irmscher grille might be going relatively cheaply (I'll see if Steinmetz will do me a discount for top and bottom grilles being purchased at the same time)

Soz andylav, if i'd have read all of your thread i could have told you the Irmscher ones where more rectangular as the Steiny grill has more vertical slats. (that's why i've got one over an Irmy one)

Always worth asking for discount for from Rossiters (steiny's official importers), but as far as i'm aware VxlSCC has the only discount scheme with them witch is free postage.

Only get them from here all you'll be paying more for them.
