    Car Alarm

    Every now and then my car alarm beeps about 4 or 5 times when I get out the car.

    Does anyone know why this does this?????

    Please help me its wrecking my head

    Sounds like the power sounder/backup battery is on its way out.

    It lives inside the near side wing to the rear of the wheel (under the arch liner) - if that makes sense :roll:

    Easy enough to fit - disconnect battery, wheel off, liner out and unbolt from bracket - then refit all.

    It's a siren/sounder with a built in battery so it goes off even if some chav disconnects the battery - so it's all one unit.

    IIRC it's about £80ish from VX (although I may be wrong). It's a common problem and has been covered here a load of times - a search may reveal the part no and price.

    I think you are correct, i read someone got quoted £110 for the siren unit :shock:
    My mk3,117K, and the engine is still going strong
    shame about the car shell tho,lol.

    Not according to the venerable Haynes Manual - but there's always an exception
