How do you answer the phone??

I have been thinking that I answer the phone mobile or home with a simple hello. I have decided that maybe I should answer it differently though due to work and being self employed etc etc. Its ok to say hello if its one of your mates but its a prospective new customer maybe its not quite profesional enough???

Just something that is bugging me at present what do you think? How do you do your phone answering??

Yes its a bit long winded and you get fed up with saying it so don't pick anything too long or it will do your nut and you will end up not bothering anyway.

Hello if I don't recognise the number on the ID, otherwise it's 'Hiya mate' or 'Hiya . . . . .'

I hate all that "Good morning, Smiths Company, so-and-so speaking, how may I help you?" crap. If I wasn't polite I'd interupt them.

If I don't see called ID I say, "Hello."

If I recognise the number I greet with, "What?"
