    Fitting a Mirror cover

    Hi
Someone nicked my mirror cover off my astra.

Ive sprayed up a mirror cover, offered it up and its not fitting properly they have snapped off a few clips. Ive just done a coat of lacquer.

With out buying a whole new mirror what would you suggest? I was thinking (once lacquer is dried) to put super clue around joining edges and use some tie-raps to keep it tight while it sets?

    any ideas?

    Thanks

    Lew

Sounds like a good idea mate. prob best to use silicone tho. As any glue is a bad idea to use near to paintwork really.

What about some no nails/liquid nails, should find it easy in B&Q etc, goes in your mastic gun once it sets its more or less there for good, rock solid

    Cheers for the replys all.

Ive super glued the edges, and had a little gap which I put a tiny bit of sealant in. Its now setting with 4 tie-raps round it. If it doesn't work i shall try the no more nails

    Thanks

"sikaflex-291" is dead good stuff for sticking things on the car. Its a sort of glue and sealant in one that remains flexible once it's set. They use it for helping to bond on body kits, as it wont crack and break the seal since it's flexible. I think it was primarily designed for use on boats - so you can find it in marine type stores. I got a tube for about £11 IIRC, and it goes in a sealant gun. (oh yeah, and it's black in colour)

you can buy it here http://www.jamestowndistributors.com...&BANNERID=, i kno its an american store... but im sure u can find it over here. I got mine from a boat store on brighton marina.
