Those in the know about digital cameras..... (help?!?)

    http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=52965

I am looking to buy a new digital camera for going back to uni as I need to take alot of research pictures and pictures of the work i do etc. I am also looking to be able to use it for other purposes like some amatuer photography and general photos like carshows etc
I did a photography module in 6th year studies art but that was basically how to use a camera and take good images, I dont actually know what makesa good camera. Anyhoo i was looking at this one and was wondering what people think of it, if it is any good etc or what other options I have within that sort of price range (not above £400)

    cheers.

Fuji have some of the best CCDs in the game in their cameras. The S7000 is a 'prosumer' camera in that it is a camera which can shoot at very high resolution and with plenty of control, but is not an 'SLR' like the Canon EOS or Nikon D, where you can change the lenses.

I would get one if you had the money spare, you are not really going to get as good a resolution or picture quality for your money

It all depends how serious you'll take it.

I'm on my 9th digi cam at the moment, for general party work and fun shots i use a canon ixus 430, it's a fantastic little camera which offers a little manual control too. My main camera is a canon EOS 300d which is a true dslr.

costs for dslr are still pretty high compared to the fixed lens cameras. if you go the dslr route, allow cash for some decent glass which again bumps the cost up.

Before I went onto the 300d, I had the fuji s602 which was the model before the s7000. I found motorsport shots very hit and miss due to the lack of detail in the electronic view finder.

My 300d will probably get swapped for the newly announced 20D
