    Touch-up on alloys

I have a very slight damage to one of my alloys...a 2cm line following the line of the wheel near the edge. Nobody else would ever see it, but I know its there!

Is there such a thing as a touch-up method for wheels? The damage is definitely not worth going to a wheel repairer, but it would be nice to find a way to match the silver and blend it in.

    Is this possible?

    Regards,
    Jonathan

Thanks for that link! It is unclear if you HAVE to respray all 4 wheels to make them all match, or whether you can just touch up one small section and it should be close enough. Have you had any experience of using that kit?

    Thanks and regards,
    Jonathan

    re: Touch-up on alloys

    Hi M8,

It's not perfect, but I bought a tetrosil metallic silver paint pen from an A1 store recently (£3.49) - and it's the best £3.49 I ever spent! just paint over your scratch and it looks a million times better, but not perfect. But hey - you know you're gonna catch them again and it's better than spending £90 a wheel for a refirb, and nobody's gonna notice when your're overtaking them on full boost right?!?
    Gotta be worth a try

Thanks a lot for that! That is impressive and would certainly stop someone noticing at first glance. I will get myself one of those paint pens ASAP! You are right, they will get caught again...I knew going for 18" wheels was asking for trouble.

    Cheers!

I'm sure I read £90 quid somewhere, but £35 + VAT is still a lot more that £3.49 bud.

Totally agree with you mate and when I actually go a month without kerbing mine i'll get them repaired

One of mine is well past the silver pen ops:
