    Car Alarm (standard)

My car alarm keeps going off at night when my car is on the drive. At first I thought it was a cat causing it but that doesnt seem to be the problem.

No one walks past the car or anything I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem :?:

Could it be a low battery or something :?:

Low back-up battery in the sounder most likely.

VX will kindly replace it at about £95 plus fitting... :|

For those astras more than a year old, where both siren and horn sound for a true alarm...if only the siren sounds during a suspected false alarm, it is the siren backup battery. The whole unit (siren + battery) normally needs to be replaced.

I believe the location of the siren is under the wheel arch. Although its not hard to get to (by taking a wheel off), I think it might have to be coded to your car with a tech2. Hopefully someone else can confirm this point.

I would say rom those 2 statements it's not your siren unit that gone wrong and more than likely the ultrasonics in the interior light. Maybe if you try switching them off every time to see if it still goes off or unfortunatly a trip to vauxhall to see whats triggering it with the tech 2
