    Replacing standard speakers

What can i replace the standard speakers in my MK3 with.
How big are the front door speakers and how big are the rears.
Will aftermarket speakers just be a straight swap, and will i notice a sound difference. Are the rear speakers round or like an oval shape.
Could just leave the rears where they are and just connect their wires to some 6x9s on a parcel shelf.
Could i replace the fronts with something like this:-

My car will hopefully get one 12" sub in the boot, or two, not sure yet.
My mk3,117K, and the engine is still going strong
shame about the car shell tho, lol.

Rear speakers on the MK3 are only 10cm ones and you can't really get anything bigger in there. Your better off buying or making a stelth shelf and getting something decent in there.

Front doors take up to 17cm with a pod needing to be bought to make them fit. If you go for compoments the tweeters will fit in the factory location. Only problem I had was with mounting depth and had to make my pod sit out at a angle

No 6 by 9's mate if you want quality, it gives a bad sound stage. But if you just want loud with little clarity, just different tastes.

Any good ICE shop should be able to supply a autoleads mounting pod and personally i'd buy a shelf rather than make one but then it's probably cause I can get them so cheap

Yeah i was gonna go for 6x9s if i didn;t get a sub, to fill out with bass. But if i get sub then i may just get some front speakers to equal out the sound.
If anyone has any ICE stuff for sale PM me, looking for speakers, amp and sub and wiring etc.
    Thanks for your help/
