I have a mk4 and i have a 7" screen fitted into my centre console.

I have moved my stereo down to the blank space (the dookit, lol) above the ashtray.

I have also removed my centre air vents and hazard switch so the screen sits under the vauxhall mfd.

Ive got a 7" screen where my mfd and headunit were, then moved the headunit to where the ashtray and cigarette lighter go, looks pretty smart. only jus fits tho, made a metal backing box for the screen to fit in then smoothed it all in and sprayed it.

well I want to have a flap sort of cover for it to hide the tv at night so the sods can't se it so I need to think on that too. Was thinking of the lid from a laguna that hides the head unit but it means cutting alot of the astra consol to fit

Not a bad idea that - im also paranoid about leaving expensive lookin stuff on display! If u replace the std center console with the sat nav one, then there's space to fit a screen at the top. This might require some choppin to fit a bit screen - but its doable. This is what im plannin to do.

If u want to cover up, u might be able to cut a block of polystyrene to a shape that will fit snugly into the appeture infront of the screen, and hav the back line up with the curves of the console. Trim/file the shape and then trim with material to match ur interior. Then when u park up, wedge te foam inplace and it will look like a blank bit of interior... When I get around to gettin and fitting my screen properly, ill try out the foam.

I don't think the mk:3 astra has or ever had the sat nav centre consol in it? Either way it'll be done and sorted in a few week ready for "the" big cruise.
