Snooper S6R other peoples problems now

Missus bought a Snooper S6r from Costco, I fiited it in with the GPS aerial on the dash and can't seem to find satelites

this is the second one now with the same problem, we changed the main unit and the aerial last night.

Snooper uk reckon it takes quite a while the first time you use it, just wondering what experiences you lot have had with your Snooper S6??

Mine took about 5mins to first acquire the satellites. Once that was done it was about 30secs.

Have you done an initial update to the central server thing ??

Hi mate, yep done the initial download, you have to as they say it comes unpopulated.

the first one wouldn't acquire satellites even after 45 mins

not convinced with this one as it didn't acquire any after her 15 min drive to work assuming she plugged it all in ok :?

    gonna try it again tonight

How close is the main unit to the gps sensor as they dont like being really close.

Also if you have the screens that reflect the UV rays (Like Renaults) it blocks the signal so you need to put the gps sensor on the rear shelf/screen
The truth is always the truth even if you haven't realised it yet...

    re: Snooper S6R problems

If you have the heat reflective screen, GPS based systems really struggle and you may need a mod like this:

Cheers for the info chaps, no reflective screen on her car.

Anyway it all seems fine now, it seemed to find satellites almost as soon as she left work

i had my sensor installed by the rear side window on the drivers side because it would not find anything through the front screen. I thought all GSI's have solar reflect glass as standard so not sure why yours doesn't.
I can't remember who's car it was but someone has the gps aerial in the rear screen tucked into the hi level brake light housing. it was a really tidy install.

I had trouble with mine to start with - had the reciever on the dash and didnt find more than 3 satellites at the best of times. So i hav routed the cable thru the roofliner and out onto the roof thru the top of the boot. Always have full signal strength now! Not sure whether astras have solar reflective screens, but it certainly works a lot better on the outside!

Another idea i had was to try to fit it under the leaf tray between the windscreen and the bonnet - just under the wiperblades. This bit is made of plastic, so u should get a decent signal thru it.

Also, does anyone have the RLD laser/radar detector accessory for the snooper s6r? Where have you got the RLD mounted? I tried behind my lower grill, but it could not detect lasers Anyone got any good ideas?? Cos im stumped!!

I'm sure legoman had this trouble with a MGZS

If a Astra has the solar reflective screen you will have a black bit around there rear view mirrir that isnt protected, you can put the GPS areial there.

Under the plastic skuttle panle is a good idea to, not looked into it on the Astra "G" but have to fit them there on Cirtoen cars
