You can't "chip" either of them.

If you want free movies and sports, you'll be wanting an 80cm Motorised Dish, DVB compliant receiver and a Magicam with pirate card. Won't be sky, but it will get you the French and German PayTV channels.

Sky is better but more money and you get loads more channels (if you watch them is debatable though)

NTL do some really good broadband/phone/TV deals though....

We have Sky and Rob has NTL

Im on NTL phone TV and brdband , brdbnd is £19 a month for 300 kbps which is best around at the moment although i think the higher speed packages are similar in price and speed.

The phone line is free with the TV which is £29 a month , phone is normally a £10 a month so TV is same price as SKY , ive got family pack with NTL and with SKY you get more channels for the same money, my plan once my 12 months is up soon is too get rid of NTL tv and get SKY tv keep the phone line and the brdbnd NTL best of all worlds then , well till sumthing better comes out!

we have 1 meg broadband, supreme tv (all but sports and movies, same unwatchable crap as sky basically) and evening/weekend free call phone and its just under £50 a month

    which isnt that bad really

We have had no major problems with them either, however i would say the sky television is much better

NTL do some fairly competetive all in deals where youget you TV phone and broardband, but you don't get many channels unless yopu start paying quite a lot.

we've got the family pack so its a bit limited, but for the money its cheaper than Sky and I hate BT charges

If you want broadband go NTL, it's fast and uncapped. Depends on the channels you want though...

NTL is prob better value if you can put up with re-setting your cable box a few times a week, rubbish slow new S/W and email problems

Guess you get what you pay for

cana beat SKY for tv, especially for sports, and prem plus for extra 50 games and setanta sports for the scottish games if yer minted (or jist watch em free at pub)

ntl would be the better option I think only if ur goin for package deal, ie with phone, internet access etc all in one, it'll probably work out cheaper. but for best tv its sky
