Unless your car had the airbag warning light on previously, then this a definite case against Vauxhall for this happening (if you are too close to an airbag they can KILL). I think you should get a solicitor unless Vauxhall offer a full repair without any argument

Sh*t thats really bad, has your car ever been involved in a front end accident?

I would contact the Vauxhall customer care, complain and get a case number.

Feck me mate, that sounds nasty - imagine if you'd have been driving at the time  Glad you're reasonably OK. tho as airbags can do serionus injury.

Get onto Vauxhall (01585 427200), about this IMO dealers don't give a toss.

I've never liked the thought of driving with a bomb less than 2ft from my face, and this sort of episode don't make me feel any better about it

Claim, i would, don't let the dealers or service men bully you into believing them, it's not your fault. What if that was a child, could they of taken the brunt of the force without injury. And what if you was doing 70+ on the motorway scary thought hey.

    That is frightening.

As everyone is saying, this is a DEFINATE claim against Vauxhall. You could have been seriously injured and god forbid if you had been driving you could have injured other road users as well.

Call Vauxhall Customer Services on the number Ffoeg has provided and don't be fobbed off.

p.s. I have a vision of your m8 laughing at you then his airbag going off, dangerous and shocking i know, but i can't help but snigger ops:
