    Poly bushes... advice needed quickly

I am going to be getting a front strut brace and rear anti roll bar for my mk4 but should I buy some poly bushes as well?

Everyone i've spoken to have said how much it'll tighten up the handling but i've just read a few reviews which say they can ruin the ride quality?

Is this correct as i'm happy with it at the moment and don't want a harsh ride?

Also... are these the same thing as bump stops and if not... what the hell are they?

are you running standard suspension or aftermarket jobbies??

The bushes apparently help firm up the movement of the strut - allow them to do more work and perform better - the stop movement on the strut i think - not 100% but i remember seeing a diagram and thats what it looked like they were doing.

I'm gonna have a read myself actually!!

I've got the car lowered 40/40 with a full kit. If it'll help the ride then i'll go for it but I have a moaning girlfriend and she already complains it's too bumpy

I had poly bushes in my old car, they are simply stiffer than the standard rubber bush, so they control the beam or wishbone better, giving more precise suspension.

However, because they are stiffer, they will transmit more noise and harshness from the road surface back into the chassis, which makes the ride less comfortable, but not a vast detriment. Unless you have a very well setup suspension system and possibly a rollcage to stiffen the shell up, I wouldn't spend the money and time on them again.
