Alloys wheel dimensions for astra G lowered

I have an astrag 1.8 g lowered 40mm on eibachs, I'm running coupe 16" rims with 205/50/16s and have no problems. Now i'm considering a wheel upgrade, so what can i do without an mods to the arches ?

would like to go with 17s minimum or maybe 18s ?? what would fit ? and could i get any wider than 205 without the car becoming a pain to drive ?

options please and any good advice that may help
Used to own Astra Coupe 2.2, Supra 3.0 Turbo, Supra MK4

cant see any problems running 18"'s if your only lowered 40mm, the astra has pretty good clearence in the arches, you may have to have the back arches rolled depending on the tyres you go for!

18" Rims are NOT a problem.

    Lowered -40mm on PI springs. Ace201 18" wheels (7.5" wide) on 215/35 R18 tyres.

Not had acrhes rolled at all.

Only depends on tyres tho keif but i think most people on here with 18"s lowered 40mm will be running 215/35 tyres but if the tyre wall is larger than those you can experience problems

H18OAB we're saying the same thing here. On these tyres i've had no problems.
The tyres look right and i have had no handling problems.

Can't say for any other tyre as i've only ever had 215/35 R18's.

Anyone tried 225/35/18's? If I go to 215's I loose my insurance coverage. I really want the 18's though. Anyone got any idea of an appropriate offset? ET45-49?

I have got 225/35/18. ET40 7.5" wide rim. I have a 30mm drop no scrubbage... but yesterday i had the rear on full load (30boxes of bathroom tiles) and the rear was scrubbing against the plastic bumper bracket when i went round the bends ops: Looked more like a 60mm drop yesterday!
