    The greatest footballer... EVER!!!

In my humble opinion. In terms af natural god given talent, better than Pele.

Great though he was and in my opinion the second greatest player of all time, he was no Pele. What Maradonna did possess, as does any great (Micheal Jordan, Pele etc) is the ability to single handedly win a game and inspire his team, but to truely shine in a team of greats is a achievement few can claim, Pele was probably one of the first to do this, Jordan was to. Now I do not judge a player by goals scored but ......

Pele's record for goals scored at club level and National level, and in assisits truely reflect how great he was... Almost a goal a game during his career, he holds the record for the most hat tricks ever scored at 92 and the number of goals scored for a national team 97goals in 93 appearences (Maradonna by comparision scored 37 in 90 appearences). In total his goal scoring record is 1,280 goals in 1,360 games and is second only to another great Brazilian (Arthur Friedenreich, who recorded 1,329 goals) in goals scored in a Career. Plus he won three world cups which few can claim (Ronaldo is on two). Now these figures are truely awesome and a very good measure of just how good a player he was.

To top that all he shone in a team full of stars, in what was arguably and has been voted repeatedly, as the greatest team of all time, the Brazilian team that won the world cup in 1970.

It's got to be Pele, especially for his exemplary behaviour off the pitch.

    Maradona was a druggie.
