To laquer or not to laquer

    Hi all.

I painted my door side strips a while back and when the suns on them they look a horrible yellow colour. Now i thought it may have been the paint so I got a new tin (Halfords) and sanded down and resprayed one of the strips. Now iv'e had it out to the car and it looks exactly the right colour in all lights, which makes me wonder whether it was the laquer that gave it that yellow hue?

If i don't laquer the strips will that mean that the paint gets damaged more easily or degrade quicker?

    Cheers

    Dan

My rear arch was painted with white, and then laquered and that has a yellow shine to it. My paints were Halfords as well.
