No problems Fitz should be a straight swap. You might want to get a new gasket though for between the backbox and centre section. Sort of a doughnut shaped crushable washer.

What year 2.2 and what year 1.6, Irmscher did 2 different types of backbox and im sure the 2.2 is different.

    they go on year though.
    Ie. a 2001 2.2 will not fit on a 2003 1.6

    re: irmscher back box fitment??

Almost sure it will fit Fitz. According to the Irmscher website the only engines that i20 08 007 won't fit are:

Hatchback. Not for X12XE, 16NZR and Diesel engines X17DTL, X20DTL, Y20DTH. Fitting suitability when fitted with towing equipment is not checked.

So unless you've got a diesel (unlikely) or that strange 16NZR which I've never heard of it should fit. Unless of course the 2.2 was a coupe which does have a different exhaust on it.

    re: irmscher back box fitment??

Local friendly dealer, or LMF etc. Vaux Part no: 90448071 cost me £5.99 yesterday.
I also changed the bolts and springy washer things as well. 90280056 (2@£1.19) and 90234204 (2@2.43)

    Hope that helps.
