astra turbo 888 pads and filter

hi guys just found this site and looks good.
i've just bought an astra mk4 which has been converted out of an fire damaged 888.
i was going to service it today and went to vauxhall to get pads and air filter but they were not interested in helping me.. i dont really want to put gsi pads or filter on because these dont seem the same quality as the filter looks like a ram air filter with 888 thro it.
does anyone know where i can get these pads and filter from?
    thanks
    jay

The 888 filters were indeed Ram air items. you shouldnt need to replace it, buy a cleaning kit and clean it, just got very lightly on the oil.

Not sure about the pads though tbh.

cheers mate looks like im going to have a bit of trouble getting them off vauxhall.
was just going to use ebc greenstuff but they dont seem to list them yet for the 308mm brakes, i used to use them on the escort cossie with good results.

Just clean the panel with a Ramair cleaning kit which you can get from www.potn.co.uk

The 888 pads are Ferodo DS2500's, which I have not seen sold anywhere for the Astra. You may be able to get the older compound (DS2000's).

You could see if Pagid list pads for the Astra, as they are better fast road pads then green stuff.

You will not be able to get any 888 replacment parts from Vauxhall as you do not own a 888. This is good for 888 owners, as it helps to keep the 888 special.
It is for this reason that I did not really agree with the transfer of 888 parts on to a normal astra.

Wallace Performance can source Ferrodo pads aswell. They like to sell them with their Hi-Spec brake upgrades
