3 days aint too bad, most dealerships wont have the head in stock and please bear in mind that although your car requires work, theres still other cars that need doing.

I know that were booking cars in for next friday, thats over a week away, so bigger jobs have to be pushed to the back

Also the 2.2 isnt the pleasantist of engines to do the head on, and id put money down there will only be 1 or 2 techs in the workshop that will have the knowledge to do it.
Vauxhall ran a special course for the z22 engine and only some techs from each dealership were sent on it.

I dont think 3 days is too bad atall. lloks like youve found a good dealership.

Nope, no different unless it's actually leaking on the intake...... more than likely i doubt it..... but hey......
3 days is a bit excessive....... try couple of hours for a trained tech!! But they have other cars...... lunch breaks.... etc lol

lol, i had an OLD "corsa" (over here it's a barina) and you never had this model over there while i got my car fixed....... was a 1988 model...... i'd turn the wheel halfway around and the car would body roll but not steer.. lol...... had a VERY fast 0-5km/h, then just died and didn't go any faster....... lol

i think the 3 days is for getting the parts in,that normally takes 3 days to get as i cant see many dealers have a head sitting on the shelve in the stores..dont think they will order anything till its stripped down and examined

And better to say three days and to give you a call on the second and say its ready rather than say two and it takes three.

I allways allow a day extra for testing and anything else that pops up. A stage three on a VX220 usually takes me three days from very start to all finished, but that includes removing interior and rear clam and dropping the engine out!

Having stripped and rebuilt about 6 or 7 Z22SE engines now the trickiest bit is getting the cam timing right, but then i dont have the GM tooling for that, I made my own

    A Z22SE head

    A Z22SE engine

    Cheers rossie for the pics.

Just phoned tem to see when it will be ready, and they still dont know, they have had the car since last friday (16th) the techie was on sick leave for 2 days though.

What annoys me is that l rang friday morning at 10.30 and they said the techie had just removed the head, so 1 1/2 hrs to remove but 2-3 days to put back on???!!!!
