MK 3 Astra Alarm - Help

I have just went to move my car and the deadlocks didn't work, opened the drivers door and the alarm went off.

Turned ignition on and alarm was still going off, and the car won't start, turn the key and nothing.

All the dashboard lights come on and the hazards are flashing away, but every time i open the door the alarm goes off.

What could it be and how can i diasble it in the meantime.

    Thanks

Could possibly be the courtesy Light switch as autosparks says! Have your alarm system double checked by a qualified Auto Electrician aswell they will be able to find any fault quickly!

    Hi, thanks for your help,

Weird thing though went to get in the car today, no problem.

Opened first time and started - no alarm going off, i think there must have been a funny connection somewhere

    Hi

Mine does exactly the same. One day its fine, another u cant get it to stop. I think its something to do with the micro switch in the lock on drivers door but cant be bothered at the minute to take off trim etc. Contacts on switch may be rusty or metal strip may need bending a bit so contacts touch again.

If you find out let me know. Cheers, Bri

I am on about the micro switch in the drivers door that has been mentioned since rather than the driver door switch.

Have had these go faulty before and even have the metal around them snap
