Could someone try to help me please. Last night there was a siren coming from my car, I turned it off using the remote control but it kept happening every few minutes. This was at 00.25 so there was a few annoyed people looking out of their windows! I knew it wasn't the car alarm cos thats a horn sound.
After inspecting the owners manual I saw that it was a seperate alarm that monitors the voltage of the battery. When it is cut the siren will sound. In the end I had to disconnect the battery as that was the only way of stopping it.
Has anyone had this problem before, and do you know what might be causing it? Battery knackered? Just sitting there disconnected at the moment so thought I'd check with you guys before shelling out on a new battery.
Also, I know disconnecting the battery will re-set the ECU. It won't erase my engine map will it?
Sorry for the long thread..
