    ANOTHER alloy question from me

    Sorry folks.

I've seen a great set of alloys for sale on eBay. They are being sold by an American company. Now it would appear I could buy them at a very tempting price. However, what happens when the company ships them over? How much will I be stung by customs for VAT or any other charges and how am I billed for it?

    I want these wheels!!!

don't know how much you'll get stung for.

    How much do you want them ? . . . . ..

Bite the bullet and buy em, especially if they're rare !

COO you're being a very bad influence here.

I want 'em, but am crapping myself at the thought of hidden costs. I'll need to do some very quick research into how customs and excise works.

How much can you get them for? plus who would they be using to ship them to you? Just that in my line of work I've seen some people escape paying VAT and duties on their orders that are worth £££'s only by whoever shipping them putting them down as gifts/present/prototype/samples or the likes, but with anything its just down to lady luck if you get stung or not :?

re: ANOTHER alloy question from me

They're on an auction, so my maximum bid would be $450 - roughly £250.

I've e-mailed the company to ask how much they would charge for shipping to the UK. I guess the total cost would be: winning bid, plus duty and VAT, plus the company's postage charge. Might not be as cheap as it would appear.
