Difference in balancing shafts betwen Z20LET and X20XEV

    Hi,

I am just curious what changes did Vauxhall/Opel have to make in the balancing shafts between the 2litre standard engine and the turbo?

Having had both cars, I can say that they did a better job with the normally aspirated 2 litre. It was so incredibly smooth and there was absolutely no measurable vibration even at 6000 revs. The turbo is still a smooth engine but it is noisier and some level of vibration can be noticed.

tbh - i'm not entirely sure but would have though it might be something to do with the diffrence in compression ratios and also the fact the Z20LET is producing significantly more power that the X20XEV. This puts additional load on the engine and its mounts hence more vibration.

    ???
