    K&N Induction Kit!!

Is it worth spending £75 on a K&N Induction kit for my 1.6 8v G??

I don't really know much about the engine side of things and was wondering if its worth it??

The reason i ask is because my mate has just bought one for his Civic and it now actually sounds like a real car and i want mine to sound like that!!

    Any info would be cool.

They don't tend to work well on the astras - as alot of heat is retained under bonnet and the induction kit sucks this in - you'll need a kit that has a feed to the front of the car with draws air in from there - Viper or BMC are good examples

You won't get much performance increase with a 1.6 8v - it's a crap engine that should have been binned long ago. But, as folks have said, it will sound a bit better.

Well, you have to admit - 85hp out of a 1.6 8v is pretty feeble when Peugeot of all people can get 70hp out of a 1.1 8v. I think Renault got 75hp out of the old 1.2 Energy engine too.
