    Display problems

    Hello,
on my MFD one side of the display is brighter than the other, i can see the time bit but the date isn't as bright. So i took it apart and removed the bulbs and they were all burn't, so i put the bulbs back in and now i have no lighting, the display works cus i can see the number but there is no light. Is there a dimmer switch somewhere for the display, and can you get replacement bulbs. As mine have been on for 114'000 miles, and are getting tired.
    Thanks
My mk3,117K, and the engine is still going strong

Cool, ok not sure on the Mk3 but you say you put the bulbs back in.
If the bulbs looked burnt then i'd say they are blown, you can get replacement bulbs from any VX dealer for a few £'s try that first, also check the fuse which is also linked to the interior light as it may have blown when you removed them.

    Hope that helps a bit

Thers a dash dimmer under the headlight switch - check you've not koncked that.

Also the MFD dims when the lights are switched on so you don't get dazzel at night.

    hope that helps

Me interior light still works, so would that show that the fuse was OK.
Can the brightness of the display be adjusted?

It'll be the bulbs, they are about £1.25 each from your dealer. easily replacable.
Peel back the rubber mat in front of the MFD and undo the two screws that hold the MFD in and carefully pull it out.

Turn the MFD reound and undo the bulb. You'll need a 8mm socket to undo it. Fit in the new one.

    Easy.
