    differences in suspension

is there any difference in the suspension on my astra sport and a standard astra for example club or ls

the suspension feels quite firm and sporty but are all astras like that!! when i was sold it it was said to have "sports suspension" just wondering what you get with the "sports suspension"

is it any lower than other astra suspension? it looks to sit at the same hieght as all other standard astras but it is sitting on 15" rims where as lower spec astras only have 14" rims??

    just curious really!!

cheers for any info on the matter!!

i know that gsi's and coupe turbos have uprated shocks, and come 20mm or so lower than the other astras

i wouldnt think that a normal sport or sxi would have any different suspension from a club or ls tho

as far as i am aware only the envoy and early clubs were on 14"

all ls upwards are on at least 15" rims

it could've had the irmscher sport suspension kit fitted at some point but it won't've come from the factory like that.

Duff, all 8valvers were on 14" steels until 2002. They got 15" steels and the multipoint injection in 2002.

My 2000 Club 1.6 8v single point injection had 14" rims with 175/70R14 tyres (replaced with 185/65R14 tyres by me). Mate's 2002 LS 1.6 8v has the multipoint engine and 15" rims running 185/65R15 tyres as standard.

I also have a 1999(T) astra Sport and the sales brochure says that it has 'Sports suspension' so I imagine that it is lowered slightly from standard?

    Would be interested to know.

this seems to be a bit a gray area with mixed views!!
at least im not the only thats been told their car has "sports suspension"

are there any vaux machanics here that now if there is any differences and if so what they are?

sport16v did you get you car from a vauxhall dealer?
i only ask as i didn't and i thought that maybe the dealer that sold me my car had made the assumption it had "sports suspension" as it says sport on the side??

Yes I got it when it was 11 months old from a Vauxhall main dealer.
