Newbie astra owner needs some advice??

    Hello everyone,
i have got an Astra 1.4.It is a 1.4Li, has anyone got the spec of this model, bhp etc. Its J reg.
I don't know much about astras, more experienced with Novas.
I take it the astra model is a single point injection.

Anyway, it is white and completely standard.
What can i add to make it look like a decent car, bodykit, lowered etc. As i know of no astra products as i am used to Novas.
It looks like this but is white and completely standard.

    Thanks to any replies.

I'm not a fan of bodykits, I like 'subtle', so for starters

Lose the bump strips off the side.
    Source some colour coded bumpers
    White front and side indicators
Vectra B colour coded door handles
    Nice rims and lower it

Are the color coded bumpers just standard bumpers(colour coded) as the car in my post has, or can you get GSI(colour coded) bumpers that fit.

Also what offset are astras, are they ET49 same as Novas.
And what is the best budget suspension kit i can get, summit like G-Max.
Do most mods fit both the three and five door as mine is a five door.

All models except the GSi had the same bumper although there were three different colourways..

    All black (as yours are)

    half colour coded..

    full colour coded

    the gsi were different altogether..

Colour coded ones should be easy to pick up scrappies

    hope that makes sense

    Ah, i see.
    So hows this sound:-
    Alloys of some sort.
    Lowering Kit-Gmax-40mm
    White colour coded GSI bumpers
    Spoiler of some kind
    Debadged/de-stripped
    Colour coded door handles.
    Sports backbox
    Performance Air Filter.

That should do for the exterior.

Finally, i know you can with novas, but can you get the clocks from a GSI astra and fit them into mine asi only have a speedo and would like a rev counter. Are the parts interchangeable between different models.

    Thanks for your advice

like ffoeg said, get colour coded non GSI bumpers as they'll b a straight swap

If it's single point i wouldn't bother with an induction kit either, get a panel filter

GSI bumpers will look great, but the replica look has been done to death - check out normal colour coded ones and see what you think, IMO they look cleaner and less fussy (must have fogs in tho, lol).

I don't see why you can't put a speedo/rev conter in from a higher spec astra (sport models had a rev counter) in your - I did in my old MK2 and the Mk3 isn't much different under the skin.
