Shaking steering when going over 60mph

then cars on 17's and not lowered. when on the motorway 60mph or above the steering gets a little shakey(didnt do that my standard steel wheels). wheels are balanced none of the wheels are damaged/buckled. do you think it needs tracking?

i need to get this sorted becoz im getting uneven wear on my tyres

Do you notice any vibrations through the brake pedal too?

    Could be warped brake disc's?

get the tracking and camber checked

    probably tracking!!

next time you park up stop with the wheels in full lock and just check the state of the tyres!!

should give you a good indication if they are wearing unevenly then is most liking just the tracking that needs readjusting

Slicks get your wheel balance checked. It's very easy to "knock" then out of balance. Had exactly the same, just over 60mph. Got Front wheels re-balanced, it's now O.K.
If that dont work. Then go down the tracking route, then finally the brake discs.

spigot rings are in place, the wheels have been balanced. the only step left is to tracking. whats a good price to pay for tracking? i had my brake pads changed yesterday. the guy changin them pointed out that the tyres were getting uneven wear. as you guys know, tyres aint cheap...

I have some vibration through the steering wheel...but it seems to change from day to day. Some days I get none. Other days, it will do it if you let go of the wheel. I can stop it just by holding the wheel gently with two hands...and other days its stronger! Always from about 60mph upwards.

It must be something to do with temperature....but as its so variable not sure if its worth doing anything about

Tracking should be okay beause I can let go of the wheel and the car will continue in a perfect straight line.
