    Covered by Warranty???

I guess the answer to this will be a big fat NO but here goes.

Some of you may remember i had a problem with my aircon. I had it regassed and dye put in to check for leaks. I paid my 88 quid for this then left the place being asked to come back in a couple of weeks to cehck if there were any leaks.

10 days go by and everyhting is cool literrally until the aircon starts making a weird noise. Its getting up to the two weeks they toldf me to leave it so i go back. the check it over and tell me I need a whole new condenser cause my is knackered. this condenser im told is gonna cost 285 the pay for the labour and the regass after all this and im told im looking at 480 quid.

The car is a 51 plate sxi and is three years old in december it has however done 70'000 miles. Im kidding myself this may be under warranty arent i???????

Any opinons on the warranty or what to do short of coughing out 485 quid please let me know!!

Why did you get it regassed inthe first place...was it due to a fault with the aircon? or becasue it needed doing. Also did you get it done at vauxhall or else where??

Is Vauxhall warrenty not 3 years or 60000 miles whichever come first?

Apart from that I would say to get it covered by Vauxhall warrenty you would have to go to them for the aircon to be checked again and pay yet another regas charge as this is a serviceable item

I had the aircon regassed as it was not working the gas had obviously leaked or had run out there was none in it so the aircon stopped working cut off. I took it to vauxhall who recommended an aircon specialist they regassed it then put the leak dye in to and said to come back to have it checked in two weeks.
went back in ten days the gass had all leaked out again i assume and they told me that it was the condenser that needed replacing

I doubt Vauxhall would cover a holed condensor, they'll just say its stone damage surely

The warranty is 3 years or 60K miles which ever comes first, if the A/C unit is damaged then absolutly no would be the answer.

But if it is not, Vauxhall operate a system called V Can, when they consider paying a percentage towards the cost of repairs, this only applies if something has failed after warranty has expired but failed prematurely.

But in my honest opinion I would say you won't get warranty cover doe to mileage and it's age.

VCAN was put to an end when the 3 years 60k warranty was introduced, it only existed on the vehicles registered before 01/10/2000.

You wont get any contribution from Vauxhall.
