    GSi Misery

A great car it is, but having to visit the VX garage twice within a space of two months, i am beginning to have second thoughts

From day 1 I picked her up, i have that TC light problem (still occuring). The day I drove up to PV2004, the cruise control decided to kick in by itself? cannot imagine what would happen if i was driving through town . The latest is the car has now lost power and does not accelerate. So, car is now booked in again for the 2nd time this week

hang in there lad! once it's sorted you'll be happy with it again and you'll love it. every car has it's share of problems at one stage or another. I've had hell with mine but when its all working I love the thing ( and its not even a turbo! )

So stay with it - all will be cool as T-bone has said.

Don't really think we can sum up that the Astra GSi=Trouble! :?

Sorry to hear about the troubles SQuidge - for me the problem you have is that people paid good money to know about cars/solve car problems, are er, not doing their job.

Can't help but wonder if the car was sold to you with known issues. Maybe that's why the last owner got rid. Seems to be a disease within the car industry - car's with problems just get continually moved on for some other poor bugger to suffer rather than someone being bothered to actually solve the problem in the first place.

Anyway, stick with it. I ain't no mechanic but things like 'cruise control coming on of it's own volition' can't be rocket science to diagnose and put right.

    Keep us posted.

Cheers guys, hopefully the motor will all be sorted out this week. It is a great motor but im kinda gutted having it since the beginning of April and was told the car had been checked and everything, then all this happens

The test drive went really well though, which i find strange then once collected, it seems like a different motor

Will see what happens after the visit to VX this week :?
