OK :P being as we're all talking about speed today. I was driving home over the tops of the hills this afternoon when I had a Harrier GR7 flying in the same direction as me .
Given the Harrier has a set up for top end speed and doesn't really pull from lower revs, I gave it a bootful and I reckon I had him to 100 mph.
Does anyone know the power to weight ratio on a Harrier? I think that if it hadn't been for me fluffing the gear change I'd have had him at the next corner anyway, because his air brakes aren't as good as 308mm discs and decent pads on the Astra
Has anyone else raced a combat fighter aircraft lately? I was just wondering if a Tornado would be quicker, but not as good on the brakes as an Astra. How would a Puma Helicopter square up? They seem to corner better and are better on the brakes
Perhaps GSi Lady has had her car up against one of the planes at work? What do the quarter mile times line up like?
(I just thought I'd start another pointless 'mine is faster than yours' thread )
