    Leccy Windows

If I had motors for the windows and switches ad was intending to make my own loom would i need anything else i.e. control box (maybe) or relays.

Also any extra parts what purpose would they serve in the window circuit and could the motors and switchs be wired to work without nothing else ??

You really do need part of the loom at least for the connnectors. Relays are all built into the motors

Don't know if it is a requirement to have an auto reverse safter feature on electric windows, I know that they have this feature when factory fit but I don't know if this is a nicety or a legal requirement. If you do need it then this mght need a bit more work than just turning on and off a motor :?

In fact the convertibles do not have a saftey auto reverse. They only one-touch downards, but going up you have to hold the button down all the way. This seems to be something to do with the interaction of the windows and electric roof.

Additionally the rear windows on a convertible do not one touch in either direction with the rear window controls. However if you use the one-touch ALL windows button in the centre console, then all windows drop down with a quick single press!

So this means that all of the funtionality of one-touch and auto-reverse must be in some ECU somewhere.
