    is there a visable differance???

    hi folks

I am doing a rear disc conversion for my 1.4 mk3 astra and am going to a scrappy 2morro as they say have rear hubs from a mk3 gsi, however i would like to know if the rear hubs/calipers/discs from all mk3 astras that had discs on back as standard are the same or not as i havnt a clue and dont want to be buying crap.

if there is differance what should i be looking for?

    thanks

only thing i can think of is - stud pattern may be different - the gsi rear hubs may well be a 5stud configuration - whereas yours will probably only be a 4 stud

    I had this done on my old Mk3 1.4. All Mk3 Astra's have a 4 stud fitment.

Rear disc conversion is easy on the Mk3.
Either replace the complete back axle as one piece, or replace the hubs on each side. All bolt spacings are identical.
You will need a different handbrake cable though. Think it may be from a cavalier, can't remember exactly which one, sorry.
Don't forget to service the rear brakes as you fit them, makes the job much easier if they are off the car.

Def a worthwhile mod malky - but while your at it you might as well take the front brakes, calipers etc... off it too as these will be better than your standard ones ( if they are in fair condition anyway ) - just a thought!
