Before you all call me mad....
Has anyone played with boost controllers.?? What have people found out etc..????
One of our ozzie member runs and EBC boost cotroller in his car with great results
The std boost control solenoid on the car is more than ample for regulating boost.
The std engine map will not allow any higher than 10psi of boost (12psi overboost).
I tried a manual boost controller and actually got less power.
With std map and manual boost controller I got 185bhp, with boost control solenoid put back on I got 202bhp. There is apparently a pulsing of boost from the solenoid to the actuator, which a boost controller blocks.
Even when running a hybrid turbo and higher boost levels, the std solenoid can still do the job with a suitable re-map.
