    Economy Driving....

yes you may well laugh, but having just carried out my own scientic test I can now conclude the following:

one week of MAX econ driving
    - no excessive revs
    - 55mph on the motorway
    - no air con

    309 miles - 34.04 litres of fuel
    = 41mpg!!!!

Under my 'normal' driving I'm usually getting about 32/33mpg - thats averaging 80/90 on the m-ways.

My car is 2002 1.6 SXi.

    BUT

    and a big but is:

    its boring as hell!

its dangerous!! Sitting on the inside lane doing 55 you'd be surprised at how many near misses I had with dick'eds leaving it to the last minute for exiti slip-roads!

    And
having said all that next week I be mostly driving fast again!!

    CHEERS
... indicators do not give you right of way!!!

Prepare to be bored shitless then!!!

I brimmed it and did 309 miles, it was still on over a quarter when I filled it again this morning!!
And that includes a lot of stop starting short journeys over the weekend!!

Well happy I was especially out of a 2,0 turbo Z20LET

But you never told us your mpg Andy :?

Like you say Fastra, driving that slow is probably more dangerous than its worth

save 4 quid in fuel and get a trucker sitting on top of your car

Super Unleaded (not optimax) will also get you a few more MPG.
