    Dump Valves, All Opinions Wanted

Im thinking of getting a Bailey Dump Valve from Regal, its £120 and includes all the fittings. But what im worried about is , is it worth it. ?

Do you get that ptssh noise.? Also where does the dump valve go ? Do i need anything else or would anyone recomend doing something first before getting a DV.

Do they work okay on Astra 888s ?

Does it connect to the pipe that runs to the intercoller? I havent a clue.

    Please help?

Oh Boy!! - The DV is a nice mod but it is really down to personal preferance - if you want the nois - then cool get one - what does it do? it releases excess boost resulting from the closing of the throttle when you go to change gear and lift off. This excess boost can stall the turbo (backpressure) meaning that you have to spool up again. DV's vent this excess boost.
All z20let have a DV built in but the bailey gives a nice noise. 888 have EXACTLY the same engine as all the other turbo astras - SRI-T, GSI, Coupe-T, Cabby-T - so it will exactly the same. There are numerous posts on this topic - try a search mate - there has been a discussion recently regarding DV's too.

They make a nice noise, if nothing else?

Heres a V short video clip of steves Bailey DV on the RR. Theres a bit to much noise from the cooling fans but you get the idea.

Ok sorry , but whats a power pipe, Is that the pipe leading to the intercoller? If so should it have a fixing for a Dumpvalve, is that where it goes yes?

Anyone got a pic of an engine bay with a dump valve on?

    Thanks for your help

Yeah the pipe leading the intercooler is the boost pipe - the power pipe is just a metal version of that - metal so that it doesn't expand or compress underload therefore maintaing constant presure - you can observe this on standard pipework if you rev your engine - the standard pipe sucks flat.
The dump valve attaches onto this pipe.

i suspect both dump valves are the same. you have to cut the hose and add a t-piece but this comes with the fitting kit on both(to fit the dv).
if you get the power pipe it already has a fitting for the dv
