    Wheel Alignment - Tracking

    Hope somebody can help!

Went in yesterday to have my tracking done, laser alignment due to hitting a pothole on the motorway at about 80mph. TC went mad for about 10 seconds.

They said I was +8 instead of +1, all sorted but my steering wheel doesn't sit straight. When the steering wheel is straight it drifts to the right.

Any ideas? Is +1 right for the Coupe?

I had this on my old car. Take it back, tell them to sit the wheel dead centre and "reset" the settings.

They've compensated rather than re-alligned. Your tyres will wear from the inside in if you don't get it sorted.

    Hope this helps mate

Sounds like they've set it without making sure the steering wheel is centred!

Mines the same. Take it back and they should redo it for you. (I've just not got round to going back! ops: )

    re: Wheel Alignment - Tracking

Just gave them a call, taking it back today for them to check.

Got it done at a local tyre place, Commercial Tyres at the Branch in Aylesford near Maidstone on Forstal Road. They also have a branch in Ashford located in the Ashford Business Park.

With +1 the wheels sit like this \ / if you look at it from the front of the car. For the best handling you want -0.5 or -1 so the wheels sit like this / \ .

    re: Wheel Alignment - Tracking

    All sorted.

I now have a car that goes in a straight line and follows the camber of the road with no hands on the wheel. Don't know what they did but the laser was at about 6 to the rears and between 0 and 20 toe in/out on there gauge.

And Manch, my wheels defiantly sit / \.
