Splitting of front head lights on a g

Has anyone split the front head lights on a astra g so as they can be painted to look like the turbo ones, or do you know if it even can be done. If so can someone give me a brief how to and what paint and primer is needed.

    Cheers

    Tim

put them in the oven for about 5 mins on 160 degress.

Keep your eye on them and keep checking them, they will come apart quite easierly. The main problem is re-sealing them. Remove all the old sealant before you re-seal.

Easy way is to use a hot airgun to warm up the sealing and little-by-little pull apart the clear 'glass' and the rest of the light. Little patience needed, but you won't melt the whole thing. It's not a hard thing to do, and we've put couple of lights together with the old glue too without any leaks.
There is a separate interrior piece from which you should sandoff the 'mirror', then a primer and paint. I thing the job is worth the money, but if you feel one is not up to the task, buy new ones.
