I'm approaching 5k on my Coupe Turbo now. The manual says to service at 10k or 1 year which ever comes first (they'll probably happen the same time in my case). I ready postings about it being a good thing to change the oil regularly and decided that a 5k oil change is a good mark as it can be re-done at the 10k as part of the service. So I call up Wgrose to find out how much it costs.
First of all I'm told it doesn't need it and can be left as is until the service. Then they tell me that the manual is actually wrong and it should be done at every 20k or 1 year which ever comes first. I asked them for a quote for an oil change anyway and specified fully synthetic oil and they quoted me £85 all inc  . Is it me or does this seem a complete rip??
It's probably something that can be done as DIY for very little effort but i was prepared to pay a little premium to off load the hassle to Wgrose garage but i was thinking along the lines of £40 tops. How much does it cost to buy the bits for an oil change? Decent oil filter, and decent synthetic oil. Maybe some oil flush as well (is this really needed?).
