    The 1.6 16v is just a nicer engine full stop.

    Yes it makes an odd noise again... its silent as you accelerate then starts to make a grrrwwaaaaaaaa sound from 2300 - 2700 then it quietens down again...

    Plus the 1.6 16v revs nicer and is much more tunable.

    i was in a 1.6 and it seemed to revv more freely... my 1.8 when you blip the throttle (fly by drive wire thingy) the revs hardly move up past 2000...
