    lighting question/s

On the mk:4's your interior lights slowly fade out when your doors are closed. Well I'm wondering if

a- you can get the motor or what ever it is that does that to do more than one light?

b- can you fit them into the mk:3 so we can have our lights fade out?

Yes, if you add in the rear grab handle light they will fade out as well.
You should be able to do something similar in a Mk3.
Have a hunt around for interior light dimmer units.

It's controlled by the multitimer module in the Mk4.
This module is mounted behind & about the same size as the fuse box.
It controls most of the electronic functions in the Mk4 e.g. Hazards, wipers, central locking, heated window, fog lights, etc.
It would not be easy to swop over.

You will have more luck if you try sourcing a complete light fitting from an older Cavalier/Carlton/Omega as they should have this feature built into the light fitting on a small circuit board.

I would love to have have the same feature as our Commodores (Cavalier I guess is the closest you have to it).

Can leave your headlights on for predetermined time when you leave the car and then they will turn off. Good for providing lighting to get into your house.

Not as standard, although I can with mine as its part of the aftermarket alarm I had fitted to my car.
Really handy feature as you say, plus on mine it can also switch the headlights if it starts getting dark.
