    Moving to Dubai

Was over in Dubai last week for a holiday, was 48 degrees on Wednesday Anyway, been offered a job over there and looks like i'll be leaving by the end of the year. Does anybody know any places that would ship my car over there? I only saw 2 Astra's the whole time i was there and hardly saw any modified cars at all. So reckon my car would be a real head turner over there There's also no limit to window tinting on the side or back windows so reckon i'd have to get limo black all round!!

Looks amazing - the prog was on about the developement that's going on there at the mo, with that 'Palm Island', 'The World' and theamazing 7 Star hotel, andall mixed in with restoration of the old achitecture.

A country of vast contrasts to say the least.

    re: Moving to Dubai

Well my dad has his own company over there and he's just opening up a drillpipe yard and machine shop and he needs somebody to oversee the locals, tell them what to do etc. and he thought of me

In Dubai they have also recently started work on the Burj Dubai which will be the tallest building in the world when its finished (estimated at over 800 metres high) and also on DubaiLand which will be a 46000 acre theme park. And they dont mess about when they are building as they are expected to be finished within 3 years!!

This is a pic i took of the Burj El Arab and Jumeirah beach hotels last Wednesday. They are both amazing buildings.

Ah, I should have spotted the 'oil' link

Forgot about the Burj - that was on the prog as well. It's amazing what can be done when money is no object.

    One serious engineerng project..

    Awesome

    re: Moving to Dubai

They have also just completed a formula 1 standard race track and as proof that hey dont mess about building things over there check this link and see the pics of the track as it was in January and then again in March

Saw theGP from there earlier in the year, absolutely amazing - they even glued the sand down in the surrounding area so it didn't drift onto the track or get in the car's induction system

Almost instant construction - I think that style of thinking/work ethic is needed in Greece right now
