    Incompetent Dealers

    Booked my car in 2 weeks ago for an Oil and filter change... went to the dealership yesterday morning for it to be carried out and he said

    " oh you're not on the list, are you sure you booked it in "

    well i said " yes this is vauxhall the dealership I phoned and a girl booked it in "

    he said " oh there were no girls working here 2 weeks ago "

    So therefore he would not do the work for me...

    this is utter mince and now i will have to re book somewhere...

    what would you guys do if this happened to you...

    Dont make sense as next time your service is bigger and if they have sorted you out you would have gone back, so short sighted dealers.

    All garages are like this.

    My usual preferred dealership - which will remain anon. , have now got a central call centre , or you can book a service on line - or request them to call you back. All 3 failed, I never got to speak to anyone at the service desk - so booked it in elsewhere.

    When I had a Punto - another garage - went on holiday for 10 days - left them the keys to service and MOT it - contact numbers - the works. Returned 10 days later to discover it parked where I left it untouched!!

    some places are good i always use a vxl dealer in brentwood 100% the best i have found police use them as do all people that work for my dad they helped me out a few times when i have just turned up

    aparently if I get my oil changed at a non vaux garage it will invalidate my warranty cos the oild filter is not a GM one... is this true?

    So if i were to buy the parts from Vaux what tool is required to remove the sump plug to drain the oil?

    Just phoned the dealer back to moan and got the lady that took the original booking two weeks ago... she said you were booked in for 15th .. did you not arrive...

    i told here i did arrive and got turned away cos my name was not on the list... she said your name is there as a booking for the 15th...

    so its booked in again this saturday . So if i turn up this time and they say your name is not on the list then i will just maybe stealk their flags and piss in their tea.

    Make sure this 'lady' isnt at a central booking location - If its a chain of dealers its not uncommon for the phone calls to be routed - or event temporarily diverted to another branch.

    My dad once booked a car in for a service, turned up to discover the garage had closed down a month earlier - but the phone calls were diverted to their next branch - 40 miles away, who made the booking for their servicing team.
