    Bass incar but not outcar?

Ok bit of a stupid post but...

Ive got a Infinity 1200W Sub & Infinity Amp powering it its running @ 220W RMS and there is alot of bass within the car itself.. however when i stepped out of the car just to hear what it sounded like from the outside to a passer by or what not.. it sounded like complete crap.. you could just hear the speakers(nobass) and the number plate rattling at the back and no bass or vibrations what so ever? I was suprised seeing as my mates crappy old sub can be heard from blocks away yet my 1200W sub with tonnes more bass (from what it feels like within the car) cant even be heard from 3-4 metres away from the vehicle.

    Any reason for this?

    Cheers

why would you want it to carry outside your car? as skuzzle says, it's a good thing that it stays in the car...

just whack a layer of aqua seal or somethign behind your number plate to stop it rattling...

As everyone has said it is not what it sounds like outside that makes the difference but what it sounds like inside. What's the point of having a car that leaks all it sounds out, it won't do well in a spl comps, it will more than likely sound pants, and you will wonder why you spent all the cash. I have always been thankful for the well insulated car, hence me using all the soundeading that I do, because at the end of the day it is about the sounds inside that I spend all that cash on.

Worrying your neighbours might sound like a good idea, but when they complain about you making a racket and you get pulled it won't be a good idea. Be happy in the knowledge that your car is better insulated and sounds better than your mates, and if you really want to make a noise outside, open your windows , but don't say you haven't been warned....
