Headrests question. And advice on best driving position

    Hi,

Just trying to get my seating postion comfortable in my Astra and have noticed the headrests have locking notches on only one position. This means I can raise them but they don't lock in. Is this right?

It's a 2002 SRi. I've found the SXi around 2000 has these locking notches but mine doesn't. The headrest stays in position but for how long as surely it could just slip down to the lowest point.

Any tips on ideal driving position as well would be useful. I'm finding it difficult to get comfortable and am reading some sites recommend sitting low and others high when adjusting the height. I'm mainly finding my right leg aches after only a fairly short ride.

yeah i got the same problem, tall bast*ds just aint catered for,

im thinking if your leg hurts try moving the seat lower, to decrease the angle your leg sits at, then maybe move it back slightly
you should not be sitting to upright, and your arm should not be stretched out (this only applies for the 10-2 postion, unless of course you are PIMPin then its a case of one hand out strecthed on the top of the steering wheel ) if your arms are strecthed out for long periods i.e motorway driving, it can actually cause you to become very tired very quickly

They changed the headrests. On later cars you bend the headrest forward and lift. Goes very high.

Still can't get comfortable in it. Spent my lunch trying to adjust it, and I can't get it so my right leg rests flat on the cushion (which I understood you should be able to do) when I have my foot resting on the accelerator. If I move it too far back, I have to push too far to push the clutch pedal.

Anyone know of any sites that tell how to adjust for the ideal driving position? I didn't have this trouble in the Vectra, and am kind of thinking maybe this car is too small for me. I'm a little over 6ft.
