    cable routing

as some of you may know im having problems with my gps.

If the reciever is in the car at the windscreen the signal isnt strong enough to get a reading.

Im going to have to out it on the roof infromt of the ariel.

My question is how easy would it be to run the cable from the roof to the glove box and how can i keep the seal round the ariel watertight ?

    Thanks

Does your car have the reflective windscreen?? If so what a few others have done is get their gps aerial in the black area by the rear view mirror.

If you havent got this screen then there is no reason at all why the gps shouldn't work in a corner of the dash.

What we have found is that really for a full sat nav system to work properally is that it needs to see a speed pluse wire, gyroscope so it knows its turning and reverse light feed so it has a idea which direction its going. Unfortunatly in my experience the gps on its own isn't quick enough

i can only pic up 2 satellites when the receivers in the car next to the windscreen and there signals are very weak.

I put it on the roof and got 8 strong signals right away.

I`ll try putting it on the rear shelf and see how that goes.

The update time is 1 second so its pretty fast, good enought for me.

Dont mind if its not exact is its just meant to help me out round cities etc.
