Are there 2 types of leather for the coupe?

I've been looking through the pics in the help guide, and there seems to be 2 types of leather. A smooth/soft leather and a harder tougher leather.

    Is this right?

I have an 03 2.2 bertone and have black hard leather and also don't have the adjustable leg supports, should my car have these?

    cheers guys

I've seen the tough harder leather in Zafira GSi's especially with full leather, I assume to be a tad child resistant.

Supprised you haven't got teh extendable leg supports tho :? .

there are 2 types of leather seat, the ones like in the Linea Rossa which have the ribbed design and the other type which are like normal coupe seats trimmed in leather

I think they stoped making the seats with the extendable leg suports due to quality issues and warentee work? I think the leather changed around this time aswell? Although I dont know why? I feed mine with autoglyn leather care and although its reletivly thick, the leather feels quite soft now.

Okies, cheers fellas. The car is practically brand new, so will need some wearing in to make it softer. I suppose i'll just have to keep driving it!

The leather changed just after I got mine - newer stuff is harder.

My initial thoughts were that the newer stuff wasn't as nice but its probably a good idea that it's tougher, mine is showing wear in 13 months use.

Later cars have Modial leather which is similar to BMW's. The older cars had leather which I think came from Recaro.

The new leather looks superb in beige.

I have the mondial beige! It is superb. It seems tough, durable and the textured finish adds something, especially with the matching textured inserts in the door panels.

I had my car supagard'd for free when I got my car, including the leather treatment so hopefully that should safeguard against stains etc.
